Nason Contracting Group was awarded this multi-site project. The contract scope involved the construction of three new potable water storage reservoirs and pumphouses, as well as two new liftstations.
The five sites were all tied together via the main SCADA computer, which was located at a sixth site in the County Office. This allows the operators to monitor each site without having to leave their chair.
One of the more complicated periods throughout the project was the excavation and placing of the liftstation barrels for the Sunset Liftstation located just north of Lac La Biche. The barrels had to be placed at a depth of 9 meters at a location that was less than 10 meters to the shores of Lac La Biche Lake. A 200 ton crane was used to lower the barrels into the excavation.

Nason Contracting was awarded the contract to construct an 1,800 cubic meter potable water reservoir and pump house. Due to the late award of the project, and the impending winter weather, Nason immediately mobilized to site and within 3 weeks had completed the excavation and construction for the reservoir base slab.
The base slab pour was done as one monolithic pour with a total concrete volume of 1,200 cubic meters.
The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget due to a conscientious effort from all parties involved.
