The work involved the expansion of the existing water treatment, including the construction of a new concrete clearwell and block building, the installation of owner supplied ZENON membrane equipment, and the supply and installation of process mechanical piping, electrical and instrumentation, and other associated works.
The project was the first membrane plant in Northern Alberta, and one of three (3) membrane plants constructed for Municipal District of Lesser Slave Lake No. 124.

The 25ML/d water treatment plant project consisted of concrete, masonry, process mechanical, HVAC, electrical, site works, booster pump station construction, and related works. A major component of the project was the installation of owner supplied treatment equipment.
A new raw water booster pump station was constructed to pump water from Chapman Creek to the new water treatment plant. The plant used flocculation, DAF, and dual media filtration for the treatment process. UV was provided for final disinfection.
Nason Contracting Group was responsible for the construction and commissioning of the raw water pumping station, water treatment plant, and existing chlorination system. The plant is one of the largest DAF plants in Western Canada.

The work involved the upgrade of the existing water treatment plant including the construction of a new building, the installation of ZENON membrane packaged water treatment equipment, and the supply and installation of all process piping, electrical, control, instrumentation, and related components.
The project was challenging as the existing building superstructure needed to be raised 3 meters to incorporate the new treatment equipment.
Driftpile First Nation Water Treatment Plant and System Upgrade

Following ten years of boil water advisories and considered by the Government of Canada as a community with a "high risk" water system that required immediate action, Driftpile First Nation required a contractor to build its new water treatment plant and to provide upgrades to its existing system. Nason Contracting Group was awarded the contract to construct a new membrane filtration plant with UV disinfection to provide potable water for the community of Driftpile First Nation.
The project consisted of upgrades to the existing pumphouses, construction of additional water main piping, construction of the concrete foundations, reservoir and building superstructure, installation of the process treatment equipment, all mechanical and electrical installations, an overall SCADA system for the water treatment system, and in-depth training sessions for the operators.
Delivered on time and under budget, the plant provides water which continuously exceeds the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality. The recent CEA (Consulting Engineers of Alberta) Showcase Awards saw ISL Engineering and Land Services win three awards for the Driftpile Water Treatment Plant and System Upgrade project.
Eagle Lake Membrane Filtration Facility

Nason Contracting Group was sole-sourced by Dayton & Knight Ltd. and recommended by GE Water & Process Technologies to construct this 21.85ML/d membrane filtration plant with over 99% of end product efficiency. The result will provide potable water for the residences of the District of West Vancouver and for the 2010 Olympic Games. Part of the contract was the installation of over $3,200,000 of Owner supplied equipment from ZENON Membrane Solutions.
The project generally consisted of the construction of a new pre-engineered building stationed over the new filtration facility with multiple concrete channels and the installation of Owner supplied Hydro Dyne Screen. Other major work included concrete foundations, installation of membrane equipment, and all mechanical and electrical installations complete with a round concrete Clear Well adjacent to the facility.

Nason Contracting worked with Associated Engineering to completely upgrade the drinking water process system for Fort McKay First Nations.
The building additions incorporated an architectural design to reflect the heritage of the First Nations People, and the upgrade to the process utilized a state of the art Zenon membrane system to provide the community with the cleanest possible drinking water with today's technology.

Nason Contracting was awarded the contract to provide a new water treatment facility and reservoir to provide potable drinking water for the people of Kitsumkalum First Nation.
The treatment process utilized limestone contact and a softener system to bring the well water up to Canadian Drinking Water Standards.

This contract was awarded to Nason Contracting Group. The scope of the project consists of the construction of a new green sand filter water treatment facility servicing the town of Peers.
Construction of the plant involves building a concrete reservoir complete with water distribution pump house, truckfill system, an extensive groundwater treatment system, and the installation of two green sand filters and all associated components.
One of the major obstacles in the construction of the reservoir has been groundwater. The excavation revealed three underground streams and with them, an abundance of groundwater. Although this initially posed a bit of an issue, the potential harsh effects of this large volume of water have been mitigated through a lot of planning and pumping.

In general terms, the project involved upgrades to the existing treatment plant and the addition of a new building and filtration system. Nason Contracting was responsible for all components of the project, including the testing and commissioning of the treatment processes and equipment.
The project required close coordination with the owner and consultant. The new equipment and systems had to be constructed and commissioned while maintaining service to the community.

The Town of Rainbow Lake had a water treatment system that was constructed in the late sixties. The concerns of facility age, water production capacity, and treated water quality were all factors that led to the construction of a new water treatment plant. Nason Contracting Group was awarded the contract to construct a new 2000m3/d membrane filtration plant and complete existing plant upgrades to improve water quality and increase water production for the Town of Rainbow Lake.
The project generally consisted of upgrades to the existing WTP to convert it to a raw water pumphouse, upgrades to the truckfill and other existing systems, the construction of the concrete foundations and reservoirs, installation of a pre-engineered building, installation of Sanitherm Pre-Treatment equipment, installation of Zenon Environmental Ltd. membrane equipment, all mechanical and electrical installations, and an overall SCADA system for the water treatment system.

The project consisted of the construction of a new potable water treatment plant for the Cheslatah First Nations. The plant process was enhanced slow sand filtration and included the construction of a raw water intake and pump station. NCGL was responsible for all structural, architectural, mechanical systems, electrical and controls, as well as the installation of owner-supplied equipment.
4200 meters of road was constructed with pipelines and 25kV power supply from the water plant to the raw water pump station.

Nason Contracting Group was awarded the contract to increase the water supply and potable water flow capacity to 3.12ML/d from the initial 0.86ML/d for the Municipal District of MacKenzie County. Part of the contract was the installation of over $1,238,000 of pre-selected owner supplied equipment from Corix Water Systems.
The project generally consisted of the construction of new Raw and Waste Water Chambers built adjacent to an existing reservoir, and over-top was built a new water treatment plant. Also there was the installation of pre-selected skid mounted Nano Filtration units and various equipment packages, complete with the building superstructure and all mechanical and electrical installations.
The existing water treatment plant was to be re-cladded and retro-fitted as the new distribution pump house.
